The Real Middle-earth Tour
Explore the rich Anglo-Saxon origins of The Lord of the Rings story at the West Stow Anglo-Saxon Village, with a unique and informative guided tour from a true expert. For just £25 per person, you can experience an immersive journey through the creation of Middle-earth, and how author J.R.R. Tolkien drew inspiration from Anglo-Saxon culture.
The guided tour is led by a member of the Tolkien Society, and a Middle-earth enthusiast who will take you through fascinating stories about Tolkien's connection with the Anglo-Saxon world. You'll also get to see replica items from the films and learn about the film Born of Hope, which was partially filmed in the Anglo-Saxon Village.
The event is outdoors, so it's essential to dress appropriately for the weather. The tour lasts a little over an hour, and attendees should meet at the West Stow Visitor Centre 10 minutes before the start time. Please note that the event is only suitable for adults.
The event runs from 2 pm to 3:30 pm and is expected to occur on Friday 9 June 2023, Wednesday 26 July 2023, Thursday 24 August 2023, and more. Booking is essential, and you can either use the 'Book now' buttons or call 01284 758000. Normal parking fees apply.
